GMA has analytical capabilities including inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS), advanced hyphenated ICP-MS techniques, and other types of mass spectrometry (MS), for the determination of trace element compositions in a wide variety of substances.

We can:

  • Measure trace element concentrations in biological tissues, fluids, pharmaceuticals, foods, waters, solids and sediments
    ICP-MS

  • Determine spatial variability of element concentrations in both hard and soft tissues
    Laser ablation (LA)-ICP-MS
    Cryogenic laser ablation (CLA)-ICP-MS

  • Differentiate and measure different metal species and complexes
    Gas chromatography (GC)-ICP-MS

  • Measure metal concentrations in metalloproteins and DNA adducts
    Capillary electrophoresis (CE)-ICP-MS

  • Measure major element concentrations
    Atomic absorption MS

  • Measure gas concentrations in trapped gas, air, water, fluid, and rock samples
    Quadrupole MS
    Gas chromatography MS

  • Measure noble gas concentrations and isotopic compositions (He, Ne, Ar, Kr, Xe)
    Noble gas MS
